Up until now, you may have been asking people to RSVP to your email address. This isn’t the best way to handle replies – you’d be better off directing them to a landing page on a website, for several reasons:
1. Links to landing page forms (which are online) are trackable but email links aren’t (in any mailing system).
This means the clicks to email addresses won’t show up in your report.
2. Forms are more reliable when collecting additional information, like name, dietary requirements etc.
Some email clients don’t handle complicated email links well and could erase the automatically generated subject or body.
3. Completing a form can trigger an autoresponder to your reader.
Example: “Thank you for registering – here’s a map to the event.”
